Chic Stay: Miami Beach EDITION
Before I get into the details of the Miami Beach EDITION – SO excited about them opening in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. I must say, I have an obsession with the EDITION properties. I enjoy staying at different boutique hotels around the world (and the EDITION always nails it – but still has that luxury aspect to it, because it’s by the Marriot. They also do a great job with targeting the cool kids of the city, as well as being aesthetically pleasing on the outside, and the inside.
Ideal for… the cool kids
What: The Miami Beach EDITION. If you’re not familiar with the Edition properties, it’s part of the Marriott group, by Ian Schrager – the entrepreneur who co-created Studio 54.
Where: on Collins Avenue, in South Beach Miami
The Rooms: I’ve stayed at the London and New York properties, and I must say the rooms and the actual hotel are much lighter and brighter in the Miami property (think white, marble and light wood) – which goes in line with the city. The whole hotel has a very Miami 60’s feel, that you get as soon as you enter the lobby.
The Toilets: The toilets are part of an open plan with the room. I love the toiletteries, which are custom made with Le Labo. The robes and slippers were super soft and comfortable
The Breakfast: They serve breakfast at Market at EDITION – a food-hall inspired dining spot by Michelin-starred chef, Jean-Georges. Our room didn’t include a breakfast so I didn’t try it out, but everything looked good on the menu.
The Food (restaurants & bars): The Market, Matador Room, Matador bar, and Tropicale.
Pool, Spa & Gym: They have two pools facing the ocean, a spa and a fitness centre.
Price: Depends on the season. Could start from USD350 during low season and USD750 during higher seasons.
Extra points:
-an Urban resort in Miami – you really get a feel of it being a resort in the middle of of South Beach.
-If you’ve been to Miami, you’ve definitely heard of the Basement – which is a nightclub in the basement of the hotel, which also has an ice skating rink and bowling alley.
-The minibars at boutique hotels – especially EDITION are always super exciting. They had everything from a thong, sunblock, candy, artisanal snacks to cold brew.
